Ode à la Rose is excited to provide a $500 scholarship to one deserving student each year, to be used towards the purchase of textbooks. This scholarship is open to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, location, grades or major. All you have to do is write and submit an essay before the due date below. Then, you’ll be entered into a pool of contestants, and Ode à la Rose will choose one lucky applicant to receive the scholarship.

How Do I Apply?
To apply for the Ode à la Rose scholarship, simply choose a topic and start writing. Here are some ideas to inspire you:
- Who has been your biggest influence or inspiration?
- When was the last time you failed? What did the experience teach you?
- How have you contributed to your community?
- What are your biggest accomplishments, and why are you proud of them?
- Why do you deserve this scholarship, and how might it help you make the world a better place?
Your essay should be between 500 and 700 words, with proper grammar, punctuation and spelling throughout. Choose from one of the prompts above or make up your own. Find a style that suits your chosen topic, whether inspirational, creative, humorous, persuasive or something else. Just be sure to cover the topic or answer the question in full.
Ode à la Rose will only consider essays if they’re submitted by the same person who wrote them. Winners will be chosen based on creativity and quality. Be sure to include a title and byline before saving it as a Word Document or PDF.
Ode à la Rose Scholarship Due Dates
The Ode à la Rose Scholarship is only available to one student each year. The submission deadline for 2022 is May 1. Be sure to submit your application and essay before that date to be considered for this scholarship.
Am I Eligible?
Any U.S. resident taking college courses next semester is eligible to receive the Ode à la Rose scholarship. That means current and incoming students can apply and be considered. It doesn’t matter if you’re a high school senior, just got your GED, are a college freshman or a super senior — this scholarship is available to you. All you need to do is submit an application and essay.
How Will the Award Be Given?
Once we’ve received all essays and applications by the deadline, we’ll choose a single recipient for the Ode à la Rose scholarship. If you’re the winner, we’ll contact you and send the money directly to your college or university to be used for tuition.
