new illustrated Greeting Card

Aurélie Baudry Palmer x Ode à la Rose: New Exclusive Greeting Card

A keepsake for your words: Our new illustrated Greeting Card

Some words are too special for an ordinary card. That’s why we’ve created a new notecard you’ll want to keep: a little piece of art tucked inside your bouquet.

Our first edition features an exclusive illustration by French artist Aurélie Baudry Palmer. For Ode à la Rose, Aurélie imagined a whimsical “Paris-meets-New York” street scene: a flower shop nestled among city buildings, characters passing by with fresh blooms, and a hint of the romance you feel when holding flowers in your hands.

Hand-painted with ink and watercolour, her design feels both timeless and joyful. A small treasure to accompany your message and your bouquet.

In Conversation with Aurélie Baudry Palmer

Can you introduce yourself briefly?

I’m a French illustrator living in London, UK. All my work is hand-painted with ink and watercolour. I love the artisanal process of working with physical brushes and paints over digital techniques.

How did you get into illustration?

I opened my studio seven years ago after a career in academia and the museum sector. I had always loved drawing and painting and, as a side project, I started drawing house and family portraits for friends, which grew through word of mouth in London and later the USA. That's when I decided to switch careers and open my studio.

What inspires you most?

Architecture, the natural world, and the arts: they give me endless material. My sketchbooks are filled with ideas I want to bring to life. There are so many things I want to illustrate.

How would you describe your style?

It’s a mix of line drawing in ink and watercolour: warm, fun, and light-hearted, somewhere between whimsical and elegant.

Your favorite flower?

Roses, especially polyantha roses. I just love the profusion of flowers and petals. I'm passionate about scent and fragrances and roses remain the most heavenly scented flowers to me.

How did the idea for our floral illustration come to you?

This was such a delightful collaboration. I had just returned from Grasse, France (famous for perfume flowers) so roses were already on my mind. I wanted to merge a classic Parisian terrace scene with the energy of a New York street, imagining a beautiful little flower shop in the heart of the city.

If you could create a bouquet inspired by a painting, what would it be?

Ha! Excellent question! As an illustrator, I'm going to twist this a bit and imagine a bouquet based on a painting. I love all of Raoul Dufy's work and to reflect his palette I'd need a lot of pink and blues in my bouquet as well as a dark contrasting hue to mimic his darker outlines. A combination of pink roses, anemones (blue, purple, white and red), eucalyptus, cornflowers and perhaps black dahlias for that contrast? That would really be his palette in flowers.
